CUTHBERT, Ga. -- The Andrew College men's golf team took the term student/athlete to national recognition this week, earning a pair of awards from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA), recognizing stellar performances both in the classroom, and on the course.
The Tigers were one of just three National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Div. The five golfers, Connor Hixson, Bryce Barfield, Emil Wallinder, Jakob Modig, and Trip Carter combined for a 3.41 GPA, highest among the 10 athletic teams at Andrew College. Barfield was named to the 2020-21 NJCAA All-Academic 2nd Team (3.80-3.99 GPA), while Wallinder was named to the 2020-21 NJCAA All-Academic 3rd Team (3.60-3.79 GPA).
