Connor Hixson Wins 2021 NJCAA Region 17 Medalist Honor; Wallinder All- Region
TENNILLE, Ga. -- Andrew College men's golfer Connor Hixson took home medalist honors and was named 1st Team All-Region at the 2021 Georgia Collegiate Association Association (GCAA) Men's Golf Championships, parring the first playoff hole, while his two playoff participants both bogeyed, to win the individual competition with rounds of 71-83=154(+10). Emil Wallinder fired a 79-76=155(+11) to finish T4th, and was also named to the 1st Team All-Region team. Georgia Military College hosted the event at the Twin City Country Club in Tennille, GA, playing the Twin City Course, a 6,715 yd., Par 72 layout.
Jakob Modig carded an 85-84=169(+25), Bryce Barfield played in his first tournament since September 2020, firing a 96-87=183(+39), and Trip Carter shot 96-92=188(+44) to round out the Tiger scoring.
The Tigers tee off the in the 2021 District IV Golf Championship at the Arrowhead Country Club in Montgomery, AL on March 25-26, with 18 holes each day. Teams and individuals will be competing for spots in the 2021 NJCAA Men's Golf National Championships in Lubbock, TX from May 10-13.
