Bio

Brian Skortz is in his first season as Head Coach of the Andrew College Men's Basketball Team. Coach Skortz most recently was the Head Men's Basketball Coach at Brescia for the last 5 years and established a program that accomplished the following:

Reached the second highest national ranking (RV) in the NAIA polls - 28th in the nation during the 2018-19 season. During that same season West Virginia Tech who finished ranked #3 in the country going 30-5 in their overall season as well as defeating #25 IU Kokomo. In five years, they had 4 total 1000-point scorers in school history, 10 RSC All-Conference Team members, five student-athletes were 1st team selections and 1 NAIA All American.  Also, the program had 18 Academic All-conference players and as a team was recognized RSC and NAIA All-Academic Team awards winners.  The Men's Basketball Team was nominated for Team Champions of Character consideration.  During his time at Brescia, Coach Skortz also created the MBB youth mentoring program and area local Christmas Food Drive serving the less fortunate.  During his time he also started the annual Teddy Bear toss denotations given to area preschools during Christmas.

While at Mid-State Technical College (NJCAA Division II) Skortz accomplishemnts included NJCAA Region 13 Champs, WATC Co-Champs, Wisconsin Junior College State Champs, In five years, the team qualified for the Region 13 district playoffs in the NJCAA Tournament. 10 all-conference players, 8 all-state players, 5 All- Region 13 players, and 1 Player of the Year for the conference and state, 14 players named to the conference all-academic team. Nationally ranked at #6 in the country , coached 2 All-Americans, school record of 27 wins, top ten defensively in the nation.
 
Skortz also found success at the hig school level. As the Boys' Basketball Head Coach at Port Edwards High School (WI), the program in four years under his direction were WIAA Regional runners up and finished in the top four in the CWC 10 Conference every year, finishing second twice. I coached 12 All-Conference Players, 3 All Region Players, 2 Players of the Year for the conference, and 3 WBCA All-Star selected players. The program was ranked in the top 15 for Division 4 in 2004 reaching the WIAA Regional Final.
 
Skortz has his BA In Business Administration from Lakeland College in Wisconsin and a Masters in Sports Management from American Public University.
 
Brian currently resides in Cuthbert, Georgia.
