MACON, GA. -- In and out! As the horn sounded, with the score tied at 71 apiece, somehow the basketball defied gravity and rolled in, then out. Overtime. The #5-seeded Andrew College men's basketball team came just that close to knocking off the #1-seed Central Georgia Tech, falling in the semi-finals of the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) Region 17 Championship 84-80, as the host Titans knocked down six free throws in the last minute of overtime to hang on for the win. At 8 seconds to go in regulation, Jordan Booker drove to the basket and put up a shot. Taylor "TJ" Mitchell snatched the rebound and put up the potential game-winner, only to see it fall harmlessly to the floor.
Keith Littles led the Tigers in scoring dropping 25 points, on 8 of 18 shooting from the floor, including five 3's. Tez Collins came off the bench to put up 17 points, Mitchell scored 9 points and pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds, and Booker put up 8 points, and had a team-high 5 assists, and a game-high 4 steals.
The Tigers finish the year 21-10, their second consecutive 20 win season. First year Head Coach Jamison Williams will embark on recruiting, having to replace 9 players from the 2019-20 squad.
