ANDALUSIA, Ala. -- The Andrew College Men's Basketball team picked up their 3rd win in a row and 6th victory of the year, handing Lurleen B. Wallace a 54-52 loss on Saturday afternoon in Aldalusia, AL, despite being outshot 71-40 from the field. The Saints were held to just 27% shooting from a tenacious Tiger defense, which also forced 15 turnovers, 6 steals, and had 9 blocked shots.
Elliott Yorke Jr paced the Andrew scoring with 12 points while snagging 5 rebounds, Demarco Bethea added 11 points and 12 boards for his fifth double-double of the season, while also blocking 3 shots, and Akiem Nickerson also had 11 points, along with 2 steals and 3 blocks to round out the Tigers in double figures. Andrew shot 46% from the field and 40% from three, but missed 15 free throws to keep the home team in the game.
Andrew is back in the Jinks Gymnasium on Wednesday night for a 7:00 pm tip off against Franklin Prep.
