Andrew Men's Basketball Gets Important Road Win
The Andrew College Men's Basketball came up with a big conference win on Wednesday Night defeating Southern Crescent Technical College 76-63. With the win the Fighting Tigers secure a spot in the conference Tournament that starts next week. The Fighting Tigers came out quickly to start the game building a five point lead, SCTC then went on a run to take a 9 point lead with 4:52 left in the first half before Andrew closed out the half with a 7-2 run trailing 36-32. Coming out of half time Andrew started to chip away and establish themselves defensively holding SCTC to 27.5% shooting and 0 for 7 from the 3 point line. Andrew also dominated the boards with 68 total rebounds led by Ji Webb grabbing 16 boards followed by Kordes Swain's 11 and Trey Crawford's 10. The Fighting Tigers also limited their turnovers to only 5 in the second half. "I was very happy with the energy we gave on the defensive side tonight. Our defense really helped feed our transition offensively to make some important runs. Freshman Isaiah Lloyd led the Tigers with 23 points followed by fellow Freshman Ji Webb tossing in 22 with 4 blocks. Trey Crawford added 11 points as well. The Tigers will resume play on Saturday on Sophomore Day vs Georgia Highlands at 3pm at home.
