Women's Basketball's Taliah Wesley Named 1st-Team All Region; Scores 1000th Point
CUTHBERT, Ga. -- The Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) announced the NJCAA Region 17 Coach of the Year, Offensive & Defensive Players of the Years, and All-Region Teams, and Andrew College's Taliah Wesley was named 1st Team All-Region, her 3rd consecutitive All- Region season. The redshirt sophomore from Early County High School in Blakely, GA led the GCAA in scoring this past season, averaging 18.2 points, while pulling down 8.4 rebounds and dishing out 3.0 assists per game. She posted eight double-doubles on the year, scoring a season-high 30 points against Enterprise State (AL) on Nov.1 and then again against Southern Union CC (AL) on Nov. 3.
In her 3 seasons at Andrew, Wesley averaged 16.0 ppg, starting 61 of 62 games, earning 2nd Team All-Region as a freshman, then back to back 1st Team Honors in the past two years. Expanding on her stellar high school academic career, Wesley carries a perfect 4.0 GPA at Andrew, and graduated in May 2021 with an Associate of Science Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
