Men's Basketball Loses In OT
Andrew College lost to Enterprise State Community College 88-81 in Overtime on Tuesday night. The Fighting Tigers fought back late in the first half and tied the game with a deep three by Freshman Anaias Hopkins, 35 points overall. The Fighting Tigers midway through the second half clawed out to a five point lead before Enterprise responded with a run of their own. Down by eighth with just under four minutes left the Fighting Tigers went on a run to tie the game with 26 seconds left. Enterprise then was charged with a technical foul for having six players on the court and Isaiah Lloyd was able to hit one of the two free Throws. Enterprise was able to draw a foul with one second left and hit 1 of two free throws to send it to overtime. Enterprise controlled the overtime period coming up with a 88-81 victory. The Fighting Tigers had opportunities missing 19 free throws and committing 21 turnovers. Head Coach Brian Skortz had this to comment about the game, "Turnovers and missed free throws have been a problem for us early in the season. We must do a better job of protecting the ball and avoiding careless turnovers. We did a great job getting to the line but we have to convert these opportunities into points."
The Fighting Tigers had five players in double digits in scoring led by Rashod Rouse with 17 points and Isaiah Lloyd with 16. Andrew got into foul trouble through out the entirety of the night.
