LAKE CITY, Fla. -- Jalin Wimberly again led the Andrew College men's basketball team in scoring, pouring in 27 points, and the Tigers jumped out to their best start in program history, defeating Florida Gateway College 85-71, on Monday night, moving to 6-0 on the young season.
Dereck Lampkin added his second double-double of the year, chipping in 17 points and pulling down a game-high 11 boards, Javen Whitehead came off the bench to score 10 points, and Moses Jones and Kristian Collins each had 9 points, as Andrew earned its largest margin of victory in the contest.
Wimberly leads the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) in scoring, posting a 22.7 ppg average, while Lampkin is 11th, with 13.7 ppg. Jordan Booker is 2nd in field goal percentage with a 66.7%, and the Tigers are 4th in total points in the GCAA, averaging 82.0 ppg.
The Tigers take on their biggest test of the season, traveling to Tallahassee, FL, to take on Tallahassee Community College, currently 9-0 on the year.
