CUTHBERT, Ga. -- The Andrew College men's basketball team knocked off the Southern Basketball Academy 78-64 on Saturday in the Jinks Gymnasium to run their record to 2-0 on the young season. Head Coach Justin Newton's team raced to an eleven point lead at the half, withstood a furious rally that saw SBA tie the score at one point in the second half, then pulled away at the end, to record the fourteen point win.
Jalin Wimberly led the Tigers again in scoring, finishing with 18 points, while adding 7 rebounds. Dereck Lampkin added 15 points and 8 boards, Kristian Collins chipped in with 8 points and 6 rebounds, Marcus Kirkland and Jordan Booker each had 7 points, and Tim Williamson totaled 5 points and a game-high 9 assists, as Andrew shot 49% from the field, 47% from 3-pt. and 72% from the free throw line.
The Tigers have a week off, returning to Jinks next Saturday to take on Florida Gateway College at 3:00 pm.
