CUTHBERT, Ga. -- Andrew College (2-0-0) will play away from Hord Athletic Complex as the Fighting Tigers travel to Decatur and Ridgeland, Miss., to face the East Central and Holmes on Friday and Saturday respectively.
On Friday afternoon the boys in Blue and Gold face the Warriors of East Central CC (2-1-0) at 4 p.m. EST. ECCC rebounded from a 2-1 opening season loss on the road at Meridian to win back-to-back matches, first on the road 3-2 2OT at Copiah-Lincoln, before opening play at home with a 4-1 victory over Southwest Mississippi. Last season the Warriors went 5-10-0 overall with a 1-7-0 mark in the MACJC North Division to finish fifth. 10 sophomores will look to lead the 15 first-year players for head coach Kenneth Thompson.
On Saturday, Andrew will play in Ridgeland, Miss., against Holmes CC at 5 p.m. EST. The Bulldogs fell in the season opener to Southwest Mississippi CC 1-0 on a goal in the 53rd minute. Last season Holmes CC went 9-6-0 overall with a 5-3-0 record in the MACJC North Division to finish third. Bulldogs' head coach Matt Convertino looks to have a young squad in his 13th season at the helm with 17 freshman and only seven sophomores on the roster.
