Skyhawks Snatch One Away from the Fighting Tigers
Cuthbert, Ga- Fighting Tigers drop one at Home
The Andrew College Fighting Tigers try to come back in every set but came up a little short against Point University Skyhawks JV squad.
In the first set Andrew started down 10 to zero, then the Tigers went on a six to four run making it a 14-6 score. After that Andrew then goes on a five-point run with Point still leading 16-11. Point then calls a timeout, then the Skyhawks went on a run making it 21-14. Late in the set Andrew's Ellie Brannon had a late kill but not enough to bring them back as Point won 25-17.
In the next set the Fighting Tigers started out strong being up four to two, but Point then retook the lead to go up five to four. Throughout the early to the middle of the set both teams were battling back at forth making it a score 12-11 with Brannon having another kill only having the Skyhawks up by one. Once Andrew's Samantha Neeley does a serve Ace and takes the lead up 13-12. The Skyhawks then went on a run going up 20-16, Andrew takes a timeout. After the recess Fighting Tigers Na'Laya Singleton and JaMya Evans both had back-to-back kills getting the crowd back into the game and the score 22-18. Point University did win the second set of a scores of 25-19.
As the third set went under way both teams were battling for every point with an early score of 9-8 Skyhawks in the lead. Fighting Tigers Ava Dickens and Brannon both get a kill and bring the Tigers to only being down by two points. Point then goes on a four-point run making it a score of sixteen to ten. Andrew then calls a timeout to slow them down, then the Fighting Tigers Katherin Lowery gets a kill to the momentum and serves the ball for the team only being down 16-13. Point then goes on a run and doesn't look back with winning the set and match of a score of 25-15.
