Andrew Fighting Tigers Beat Trinity in 5

Cuthbert, Ga- Fighting Tigers Survive against Trinity College (FL)
The Andrew College Fighting Tigers faced off against the Trinity College (FL) Tigers.
In the 1st set Andrew started the match going 2-0 then Trinity went on a 4-point run making it 4-2. Both teams were rallying through the set as midway through Trinity took the lead 13-12. Once Andrew called a timeout, they took the lead with a score of 17-16. Trinity then called a timeout and tied up the game at 19-19. Andrew did lose the 1st set 25-21. The offense in the set for Andrew was with Service Aces from JaMya Evans, Ellie Brannon & Katherin Lowery, while leading in kills for the Fighting Tigers was Ava Dickens with two and Brannon with one.
Continuing into the 2nd set Andrew started off strong again, being up 7-4 and Trinity calling a timeout. More rallies happened, as Trinity cut the score down only to be down by a score of 11-7. Andrew then scores two points right away making it 13-7, but Trinity goes on a run making it 14-12 halfway through. Trinity then took the lead at 16-15. Andrew takes a timeout and then takes the lead 21-20. Trinity comes back and takes the lead 23-21, Andrew then ties it at 23 all. Andrew won the set 25-23. The fire power for the Fighting Tigers were Aces by Brannon with two, Na'Laya Singleton with one and Serenity Durazno-Gonder with one. Brannon, Evans and Gonder all had kills in the set. Defensively Evans had two blocks and Singleton had one as well.
In the 3rd set the score was 5-5, Andrew goes up 7-5 and Trinity calls a timeout. Trinity then takes the lead 8-7 and then goes on another 4-point run making Andrew call a timeout. Midway in the set Andrew was down 17-11 then battled back to make it 21-17. Andrew did lose the set 25-19. Andrew this set was led by Ava Dickens with two kills and Gonder, Brannon with one a piece. Gianna Erazo has two service aces.
The 4th set Andrew was down 7-5 early but the tied it up at 8 all. Trinity calls a timeout, as the points were competitive the entire set. Andrew takes a late game lead 20-18, Trinity then ties it at 21. Trinity then serves and gets three straight points making it 24-21. Andrew's Jordynn Allen serves for the Fighting Tigers getting three straight points tying it at 24 all. Erazo serves two aces to win the set for Andrew 28-26.
In the 5th Andrew was firing on all cylinders on both offense and defense. The Fighting Tigers had the lead 11-7. Late in the set Andrew was up 14-10 then got a kill to seal the game & match.
The next game for the Fighting Tigers is a Tri-Match against Sandhills CC (2pm) & USC Lancaster (4pm) at USC Lancaster located in Lancaster, SC and will start on Saturday 9/21/2024 at 2pm EST time.
