Lady Fighting Tigers Fall to SGSC Hawks
Cuthbert, Ga- Andrew vs. South Georgia State
The Andrew College Women's Soccer faced off against the South Georgia State College Hawks for the first time year. Today was the second conference game for the Fighting Tigers of the season.
Last year the Hawks and Fighting Tigers in conference play was sadly one sided as South Georgia State won both meetings.
Today to start the game, South Georgia State was very aggressive from the start. Within the first three minutes they scored three goals and it looked like it was going to a long day for Andrew.
Then during the first half, the Fighting Tigers started to somewhat slow down the attack by the Hawks. The goal keeper Ashlee Allen had some nice saves to limit the scoring from getting out of hand. At halftime the score was eight to zero with the Hawks having the lead.
Once the second half began, Andrew then started to be more physical and try to attack on offense. Kimaya Grant was the one for Andrew that really led the charge in the second half to bring the physicality to South Georgia state and to get those opportunities for Andrew on offense. The Fighting Tigers had a few shots at the Hawks goalie but none went by her.
The final score of the match was thirteen to zero with South Georgia State College as the winner.
The next game for the Fighting Tigers Women's Soccer team will be on September 5th vs Oxford College of Emory University at 3pm EST at the Hord Athletic Complex in Cuthbert, GA.
Andrew College is an NJCAA Div.1 institution located in Cuthbert, GA. The Fighting Tigers sponsor 15 sports and compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association and in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association.
