CUTHBERT, Ga. -- The Lady Tigers of Andrew College easily defeated Gordon State College by the score of 5-0 in the first round of Region 17 tournament. With the win, Andrew will advance to the semifinals for the second straight year where they will play against South Georgia State College.
Andrew went up 3-0 in the first half with goals by Carleigh Hoelzel, Sydney Hoiberg and Tessa Bates. In the second half, Andrew would make it 5-0 with goals by Ilaria Berni and Agnes Evangelista. Raquel Hauss recorded her third shutout on the year.
Region 17 tournament will conclude this weekend with the semifinals Friday night and the final Saturday afternoon played at the Darton Soccer Complex on the campus of Darton State College.
