Women's Basketball Drops two at Pearl River Classic

Cuthbert, Ga- Women's Basketball Falls on the road.

The Lady Fighting Tigers this weekend went to go play at the Pearl River Classic against East Mississippi Community College & Pearl River Community College.

On Friday night against East Mississippi, Andrew started slow offensively but then picked it back up in the 2nd quarter scoring 12 points and in the 3rd quarter scoring 15 points. East Mississippi just kept the pressure on the Fighting Tigers ultimately beating them 62-43. Andrew was led by Zora Hill with 15 points and 11 rebounds and right behind her was Tiarra Spells with 11 points with shooting 3-6 from behind the arc.

In the game this afternoon against Pearl River CC, Andrews best quarter was the first quarter. The Fighting Tigers scored 13 points but only gave up 28. As the game went on, shots just did not fall for Andrew and Pearl River's defense was active all afternoon. Andrew forced Pearl River to commit 29 turnovers. Pearl River did end up winning that game with a score of 68-28. Andrew's Braniya Baker led the way with 9 points.

The next game for the Fighting Tigers will be on the road at the Gulf Coast State College Classic, first game is against Gulf Coast State and the second game against Chipola College located in Panama City, FL on November 8th at 3:00pm Est & November 9th at 1:00pm EST.

Andrew College is a NJCAA Div 1 institution located in Cuthbert, GA. The Fighting Tigers sponsor 15 sports and compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association and in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association.
