Last year Albany Tech was the season conference champions, and they beat Andrew both times that they faced once another.
To start the game Andrew went up 3 to 0 with a wide-open corner 3-ppointer from Elijah White, but then for the next 5 minutes early in the half both teams were struggling to put the ball into the basket. Midway through the half Albany Tech took the lead with a score of 11-10 and did not look back. Albany then kept extending the lead and pushed it to a score of 19 to 10. To end the half the Titians led the Fighting Tigers 35 to 19.
