Saints 2nd Half Surge helps defeats Tigers

Cuthbert, Ga- Saints 2nd half Surge helps beat Tigers

The Fighting Tigers went on the road to face the Lurleen B Wallace Saints for the second time this season.

Lurleen and Andrew started off the game trading baskets, having neither team pull away with a big lead in the first half. The Fighting Tigers were getting to the basket, but it seemed that their shots just did not fall. While the Saints were getting many touches inside and hitting midrange shots early. Andrew gave up a big three-point play right before the half to give the lead to Lurleen to go into halftime with a score of 33 to 32.

In the second half Andrew could not stop Lurleen as they kept the pressure on them, crashing offensive rebounds and getting them second to third chance opportunities to knock down shots. The Saints scored 44 points in the second half and held the Tigers to only 33 points in the half. Lurleen did end up winning the game with a final score of 77 to 65.

The Fighting Tigers were led by Ryan Spearman with 19 points, Kordes Swain with 17 points & 9 rebounds and Mekhi Witter with 13 points & 10 rebounds. Other noticeable players were Cole Kring with 10 rebounds and Devin Moise with 9 points.

The next game for the Fighting Tigers will be on the road against Marian Military Institute located in Marion, AL on Friday 1/4/2025 at 4pm EST.

Andrew College is a NJCAA Div 1 institution located in Cuthbert, GA. The Fighting Tigers sponsor 15 sports and compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association and in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association.
