Football Ends Season with a Win
Cuthbert, Ga- The Andrew College Fighting Tigers Football team played their last game of the season at home vs the Georgia Warhawks.
The very first drive for Andrew they only needed seven plays and had a passing touchdown to Jaiden Jones. The second drive for the Fighting Tigers they had a 50-yard touchdown pass on the first play & converted a 2-point conversion to make 15-0. At the end of the quarter the Warhawks went down to the 15-yard line of Andrew and were stopped/forced to do a field goal to then make it 15-3.
In the second quarter the Warhawks started on defense and made Andrew on their own 39-yard line fumble the ball and the ball was recovered by the Warhawks. Then at the 10:40 mark the Fighting Tigers had a rushing touchdown from Jessie Carver III to make the score 21-3. After that score the Tigers had a 17-yard rushing touchdown from Tyren Randolph making it 28-3. Late in the quarter Georgia with 2:10 left went for it on a 4th & 3 play and Andrew turned them over of downs and making it a halftime score of 28-3.
The third quarter both teams were stopping each other and forcing 3 in outs. Then with 1:45 left in the quarter the Tigers score another touchdown making it 34-3 but the Tigers tried going for a two-point conversion but got denied by the Warhawks.
Lastly the fourth quarter with 4:35 seconds left, Andrew's Jakarri Ponder scored a touchdown adding to the lead for the Tigers being 41-3. The Fighting Tigers made it a final score of 41-3 to end their first Inaugural season at Andrew College.
The Fighting Tigers under Head Coach Nick Garrett went overall with a 5-2 record and thank everyone for their support throughout the season.
