Luke Turner Drives in Five as Andrew College Tigers Win Slugfest

Luke Turner drove in five runs to help power the Andrew College Tigers to a 21-14 victory on Wednesday. Turner's big moment came in the bottom of the seventh inning when he launched a grand slam to left field, flipping the game in Andrew's favor. He later added another RBI by drawing a walk in the eighth.

The Tigers' offense was red-hot, racking up 19 hits in the high-scoring affair. Jack Quick, Andon Gray, Al Nsah, and Zack Bowman all delivered key hits to help tie the game early, and Braden Simmons chipped in with a clutch RBI single during a sixth-inning rally. Andrew once again came from behind in the seventh, scoring five runs on three hits, with Turner's grand slam marking the turning point.

On the mound, Riley Gaskins got the start and went four and two-thirds innings, allowing 10 hits and 12 runs—only five of which were earned—while striking out four. Adam Boyd picked up the win, pitching two and one-third innings in relief and giving up just two runs on four hits. Logan Waldrop closed out the game with two shutout innings, striking out five and walking just one without allowing a hit.

Multiple players had strong days at the plate. Zack Bowman went 4-for-6 to lead the team in hits, while Anthony Kradzinski, Braden Simmons, Patrick Crosby, Al Nsah, and Gage Fullerton each tallied multiple hits. The Tigers also showed discipline at the plate, drawing 11 walks, with Turner and Quick each reaching via walk three times. Andrew also flashed some defensive skill with a double play and three stolen bases during the contest.
