Ken DeCook enters his third year as the head softball coach at Andrew College.
With a strong academic background in education and coaching, DeCook has spent years shaping student-athletes on and off the field. His coaching career has spanned both high school and college levels, including stops at the University of Pikeville, Colorado Northwestern Community College, Central Wyoming College, Central College and William Penn University.
DeCook’s coaching accolades include being named Coach of the Year, a testament to his dedication, impact and success in building competitive programs. One of his most meaningful experiences has been the opportunity to coach his son, Kenny, from T-ball through college.
A native of Pella, Iowa, DeCook brings a wealth of experience and passion to the field as a lifelong educator and coach. His athletic journey began at Pella High School, where he excelled in both football and baseball before continuing his collegiate baseball career at Central College, William Penn University and Madison University. During his college playing career, he earned all-conference honors and developed the leadership skills that would define his coaching path.
Outside of coaching, DeCook enjoys spending time with his wife, Claire, and their son, Kenny. The DeCook household is also home to a large family of pets — Sarge, Sadie, Maggie, Sophie, Beignet, Ruger, Brady, Minnie, Orey, Smokey, Mink, Shortstop and Jeffy.
DeCook continues to lead with integrity, enthusiasm and a commitment to excellence while helping his athletes reach their full potential on the field and in life.
