CUTHBERT, Ga. -- Roman Oliu pitched 6 shutout innings and the Tigers finally broke through with five runs in the bottom of the 5th to take game one 5-2, and Jacob Lane scatted 3 hits over 5 innings and the Tiger bats took advantage of only 5 hits to score 10 runs in a mercy-rule shortened game two, to win 10-0, and even their season record at 4-4 at the Hord Athletic Complex on Thursday afternoon.
Oliu allowed only 2 hits and struck out 7, and Killian Smith came on in the 7th inning to pick up his first collegiate save, ending the game with his lone strikeout. Chris Schwarzer and Spencer Nelson both had a pair of hits and an RBI, and Jimmy Facker also had a pair of hits, stole a base and scored a run, as the Tigers pounded out 11 hits in game one. Schwarzer also gunned down a would be base stealer in the bottom of the 7th inning with the tying run at the plate.
Lane struck out 3 and allowed 3 hits in the complete game effort in game two. Connor Nalley had a pair of hits and 2-RBI, Andrew Compton had a hit and an RBI and Will Harris had a pinch hit 3-RBI double, as the Tigers rolled to an early lead and cruised to the easy win.
