CUTHBERT, Ga. -- The Andrew College softball team picked up their first Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) win on Friday at the Hord Athletic Complex, taking the nightcap 7-3 behind a big 3-run homer from DeeAurah Bradshaw to break a 1-1 tie in the 4th inning, and a complete game performance from right-hander Dale Elmore. Andrew dropped the opener 9-6.
The Tigers managed 9 hits in the 9-6 loss in game one, led by Devin Foster's 3 for 4, with a pair of runs scored, and 2 RBI, while Elmore, Taryn Strayer, and Emily Phillips each doubled in a run, but Andrew was unable to overcome an early 8-1 deficit.
Bradshaw paced the offense in the 7-3 game two win, going 2 for 4 with 4 RBI, including her 1st homer of the year, a tie-breaking 3-run shot in the 4th inning and an RBI single in the 6th inning, Hailey Stovall went 3 for 4, with a pair of doubles and a run scored, Phillips and Foster both picked up RBI's, and Elmore notched her team-leading 5th win on the year, striking out 5 in the complete game, while scattering nine hits.
The Tigers travel to Tifton, GA on Wednesday for a 2:00 pm doubleheader against GCAA foe, ABAC.
