Andrew College Softball Opens This Weekend
CUTHBERT, Ga. -- Head Coach Kayla Williams begins her fifth year helming the Andrew College softball team, and this year's team opens the 2019 season at the Hord Athletic Complex on Saturday, January 26, with a double header versus Central Alabama Community College, first game is at 1:00 pm. The Lady Fighting Tigers have an ambitious 55-game spring schedule on tap, featuring games against nationally-ranked #2 Chipola College (FL) in Marianna, FL, a home and home with #15 Wallace State-Dothan (AL), a visit from Central Alabama Community College (AL), a pair of matchups with Shelton State Community College (AL) and Spartanburg Methodist College (SC) at the Border Battle Classic in Rome, GA, as well as 28-Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) games to determine the final four at the NJCAA Region 17 Championships, with the winner earning a spot in the NJCAA Div. I Softball Championships in St. George, UT. The 18 member roster contains just two returners from last springs squad, so the incoming freshman will form the bulk of the starting lineup.
