CUTHBERT, Ga. -- The Andrew College baseball team pounded out 12 hits, including 5 for extra bases, and scored 13 runs to knock off East Georgia State 13-6 at the Hord Athletic Complex yesterday afternoon. The Tigers win the season series 3-2 over the curent 2nd place team in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA).
Four players had multi-hit games, led by LJ Bryant who went 2 for 2, including a 3-run homer, his team leading 6th of the season, walking 3 times and scoring 4 times, Brenton Phillips going 3 for 5 with a pair of doubles, 1 RBI, and 2 runs scored, Andrew Bourque who went 2 for 5, with 3 RBI and a run scored, and Matthew Holloway, who went 2 for 4 with 3 RBI. Shawn Host pitched 5.0 innings, scattering 6 hits, striking out 2, and giving up just 1 earned run to pick up his 4th win of the year.
The Tigers travel to Carrollton, GA on Thursday to take on West Ga. Tech in a single nine inning game. First pitch is at 4:00 pm.
