Lady Tigers Open GCAA Playoffs At Home Versus Gordon State

CUTHBERT, Ga.-- The fourth-seeded Andrew College women's soccer team opens the GCAA playoffs at the Hord Athletic Complex on Tuesday against number five seed Gordon State College at 3:00 pm. The Lady Tigers and Lady Highlanders split their season series, with Gordon taking a 1-0 win earlier this month in Barnesville, and Andrew a 1-0 win in Cuthbert last week. The winner will travel to Albany, Ga. to face Darton State College in a semifinal match on Friday.

Payton Tullis has paced the ladies with 6 goals on the season, Alexandria Felger added 4 goals, Buffi Tillman and Alexis Phillips chipped in with 3 goals, Sydney Hoiberg and Agnes Evangelista scored 2 goals, while Azizat Bakare, Kourtney Mydlowski, and Alina Rodriguez all had 1 goal each. Hoiberg led the Lady Tigers with 5 assists, Evangelista added 4 assists, Felger, Phillips, and Tullis had 3 assists, Karissa Trikones chipped in 2 assists, and Bakare, Rodriguez, Sarah DeYoung, and Candice Baker each had 1 assist. 

Soleil-Thai Baker started 11 matches between the pipes for the Lady Tigers, and appeared in 16 games, amassing 94 saves, good for second in the GCAA, while posting a 2.66 GAA, and had 1 shutout. Rodriguez has started 6 matches in goal for Andrew, made 13 appearances, and recorded 32 saves on the year.

Emaleigh Adcox and Allyson Bourque have anchored the center back positions all season, with Adcox starting all 17 games for the Lady Tigers, and Bourque starting 15, while playing in all 17. Trikones started all 17 matches, the majority at left back. Jordin Mitchell and Bailey Ussery have also manned the left and right back positions, with Mitchell posting 12 appearances and 5 starts, and Ussery starting 7 matches and apprearing in 14.

Felger, Trikones, and Adcox started all 17 matches for Andrew this season, while Tullis started all 16 games that she played in. Evangelista started 15 games and appeared in all 17. Phillips started 13 matches and appeared in all 17, Hoiberg started 13 of the 15 matches she appeared in, DeYoung started 12 of the 16 games she appeared in, Bakare appeared in all 17 games, starting 8, Mydlowski had 15 appearances and 5 starts, Tillman made 8 appearances and started 5, and Baker had 16 appearances, making 4 starts.
