Tigers Knock Off GMC 2-1

CUTHBERT, Ga. -- The Lady Fighting Tigers rallied from a 1-0 halftime deficit, hammering home two goals after the break, to take care of the Lady Bulldogs 2-1 at the Hord Athletic Complex. Agnes Evangelista, on an assist from Alina Rodriquez, knotted the score at the 52 minute mark, then Payton Tullis, off a corner kick from Alexis Phillips, headed home the game winner in the 75th minute.

The back line of Karissa Trikones, Emaleigh Adcox, Allyson Bourque, and Jordin Mitchell kept GMC at bay for the rest of the match and keeper Soleil Baker turned away 10 of 11 shots on goal for her first collegiate win. Evangelista's goal was her first of the year, while Tullis netted her team-leading, third goal, and Phillips added her team-leading, third assist.

After three hours of lightning delays against Gordon State on Sunday, the Lady Tigers had to reschedule the match for October 19. The Tigers travel to Albany on Thursday to take on Darton State in a GCAA match at 7:00 pm.
