Albany, Ga. -- The Lady Tigers fell in dramatic fashion Friday night to South Georgia State College by the score of 2-1 in double overtime. The result knocked the women out of the regional tournament with a chance to qualify for the national tournament.
The game was scoreless in the first half with both teams creating a few chances. South Georgia would get on the board first on a free kick converted just outside the box. Ilaria Berni would level things up as she stormed down the left side and cut in for a shot over the South Georgia's goalkeepers hands. The score would remain 1-1 after regulation time.
In the first overtime period, Andrew contained most of the possession but failed to score. Then with two mintues remaining in the second overtime period, South Georgia was able to get a shot off that found the back of the net and would end the game. Raquel Hauss and Carleigh Hoelzel were named to the All-Tournament team after a steller performance.
The ladies finished their season with an 8-9-1 overall record.
