Dr. Kelly Britsky enters her second year as the Head Women's Basketball Coach and Assistant Athletic Director of the Fighting Tigers.
In her first year at Andrew College, her team earned a spot in the program’s first-ever Final Four appearance in the GCAA Tournament, with Braniya Baker earning all-conference and all-conference tournament honors.
Britsky came to Andrew College from Spartanburg Methodist College in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She led the Pioneers to four straight NJCAA Region 10 championships and was named Region 10 Coach of the Year three times. She coached four Region 10 Players of the Year, 12 all-region players, three NJCAA All-Americans, more than 25 Region 10 all-academic team members and four NJCAA Academic All-Americans.
Before SMC, Britsky served as the head coach at Georgia Southwestern State University for 12 years. During her tenure, the Hurricanes built the program’s NCAA resume. Their appearance in the 2010 Peach Belt Conference Tournament marked the first postseason appearance for the GSW women’s basketball program since the team’s NAIA Tournament appearance in 2001. That 2010 tournament reflected the accelerated growth of the program under Britsky’s leadership. While at GSW, Britsky also served as an instructor in the College of Education.
Prior to GSW, Britsky had a successful tenure at LaGrange College (1999–2007), where she was the first head coach of the Panthers basketball program. She led the program to a United States Athletic Association National Tournament appearance in its third year. The Britsky era at LaGrange included numerous accolades and a 100% graduation rate, demonstrating her leadership and commitment to student-athlete success. She was named Great South Basketball Coach of the Year in 2001–02 and 2006–07.
At LaGrange, Britsky also coached volleyball for 10 years, compiling a 193–150 record. Her teams appeared in three USCAA national tournaments and finished runner-up three times in the Great South Athletic Conference. The Panthers won 20 or more matches in six of her 10 seasons. The volleyball program produced four All-Americans, seven all-region players, a region Player of the Year, a three-time region Setter of the Year, 20 all-conference players, two conference Players of the Year and numerous all-academic team members. Britsky also served as senior woman administrator, compliance director and head softball coach for two years.
Britsky attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, where she was a member of the 1991 national championship softball team and was named to the All-National Team. She later attended LaGrange College, where she finished her athletic career and earned a degree in history and education. She remained at LaGrange as an assistant coach following her graduation in 1994 when the school won a national championship in softball. She later spent three years at Perry High School coaching softball, basketball and track before returning to LaGrange College to continue her coaching career and earn her master’s degree in education. Britsky completed her doctorate in higher education leadership at the University of North Georgia.
Britsky was inducted into the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College Hall of Fame in 2010 and the LaGrange College Hall of Fame in 2013.
