Dawniqua Snead Earns GCAA All- Region

CUTHBERT, Ga. -- The Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) Women's DI Basketball coaches selected their All-Region team, along with selecting the Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year and Coach of the Year for 2018-2019 season, this weekend and Andrew College's Dawniqua Snead was selected to the 2nd Team. 

Snead, a sophomore from Columbus, GA and Shaw High School, led the Lady Fighting Tigers in scoring this season, averaging 11.8 ppg, good for 11th spot in the GCAA. She posted a pair of double-doubles on the year, scoring 13 points and pulling down 11 rebounds against Central Ga. Tech on Nov. 14, then putting up 19 points and grabbing 10 boards against Lurleen B. Wallace on Nov. 20. She has a season high 21 points on Feb. 6 versus South Georgia Tech. She appeared in 47 games over her time in Cuthbert, starting 43. 

The Lady Tigers open the GCAA playoffs on Tuesday in Albany, GA against Albany Technical College. Tipoff is 6:00 pm.
