ATLANTA, Ga. -- The Andrew College women's basketball team knocked off a pair of Alabama schools over the weekend in the Atlanta Metro Classic, thumping Coastal Alabama-South 70-54 on Friday night, then dropping Coastal Alabama-North 65-58 on Saturday afternoon, and ran their season record to 3-1.
Dawniqua Snead led the way on Friday, pouring in 21 points, going 8-14 from the field and 5-7 from the line, while chipping in with 5 boards as the Tigers led by 9 points at the half and never trailed in the contest. Toddrianna Isler added 13 points and 5 rebounds, Alexis Cainion came off the bench to score 8 points, T'Kayshza King had a team-high 9 assists and added 6 points, and Destiny Reed also came off the bench to score 6 points in the 70-54 win over Coastal Alabama-South.
Takerria Waters and Isler both posted double-doubles in the 65-58 win over Coastal Alabama-North, with Waters pumping in a game-high 20 points and 12 boards, and Isler scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds as the Lady Tigers built a 14 point lead after 3 quarters and held off a furious Lady Eagle rally to run their season record to 3-1. Cainion had 5 steals and 8 points off the bench, Snead had a game-high 6 steals and added 7 points, and Akasha Wiliams chipped in 5 boards and 3 points.
The Tigers get back into GCAA play on Wednesday, traveling to Rome to take on Georgia Highlands College at 5:30 pm
