McCoy Tops 500 Career Collegiate Points

CUTHBERT, Ga. -- On Saturday afternoon, against Faulkner University JV, Tynicia McCoy started the contest with 494 points scored, in 41 career games, in the National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association (NJCAA). After draining her first shot, a long 3-pointer, to open the scoring, McCoy, fittingly, shortly after, dropped in another long 3-pointer, to knotch her 500th career collegiate point. McCoy finished the night with 20 points.

McCoy began her NJCAA career at Darton State College, averaging 10.4 points per game (ppg) over 31 games, scoring a total of 322 points. Following Darton's merger with Albany State University, McCoy brought her talents to Cuthbert, under new head coach Courtney Pritchett, where she has upped her game for the Lady Fighting Tigers, averaging 17.5 ppg, 4th in the GCAA, and the team is 2nd in the GCAA, averaging almost 75 ppg. 

McCoy is a southwest Georgia native, hailing from Blakely, Ga., where she played for Early County High School and Coach Kimmie Graham. McCoy also played for the AAU Southeast Lady Blazers and Coach Joseph Foster
