Andrew Softball Ends Season With Split Against South Georgia State

CUTHBERT, Ga. -- The Andrew College Softball team wrapped up the 2022 season on Thursday at the Hord Athletic Complex against South Georgia State, dropping the opener 13-4, before taking down the Lady Hawks 6-4 in the nightcap.

Following the opening game loss, the Lady Tigers jumped out early in game two, building a 6-1 lead early, then holding off a late South Georgia State rally, to take the 6-4 decision. Emilee Register picked up the win in the circle, with Dale Elmore coming on in relief to toss 3.0 innings, to pick up her 4th save of the season. Emily Phillips went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI, Demonee Miles was 2 for 3 with a double, a run scored and an RBI, Hailey Stovall went 2 for 4 with a double, a run scored and an RBI, Brianna Neese was 2 for 4 with a run scored and an RBI, Kylie Guidas singled in a run and scored once, and Allyson Lanford doubled and scored, as Andrew pounded out 12 hits. 

In game one, Phillips went 3 for 4 with a run scored, Elmore doubled, tripled, scored once and had an RBI, Taryn Strayer belted a solo homer, her 3rd of the season, Alexis Copeland doubled in a run and scored once, and Miles singled in a run to pace the Tiger offense.

Fall practice for the 2023 team will begin in August.
