Softball Splits With Georgia Highlands; Elmore Sharp in the Circle & at the Plate

CUTHBERT, Ga. -- The Andrew College Softball team split a doubleheader on Friday afternoon against fellow Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) foe, Georgia Highlands College, taking the opener 7-3 behind a big day for starting pitcher Dale Elmore, before dropping the nightcap 8-0, at the Hord Athletic Complex.

Elmore kept the Lady Chargers at bay, scattering 7 hits over 7.0 innings while striking out 4 to pick up her 6th win of the season, and went 2 for 3 with a double and RBI to help her own cause with the lumber. Brianna Neese also went 2 for 3 with a run scored and 2 RBI, Demonee Miles was 1 for 3 with a pair of runs scored and an RBI, Taryn Strayer went 1 for 3 with a run scored and an RBI, and Emily Phillips singled and scored, as the Lady Tigers turned 7 hits into 7 runs, aided by 4 Highland errors, to cruise to the 7-3 win. The visitors from Rome, GA turned the tables in game two, as Haley Robinson held Andrew just a pair of singles from Neese and a single from Hailey Stovall, to record the 8-0 win.

The Lady Tigers are back in action on Wednesday, with a 1:00 pm doubleheader against South Georgia State in Douglas, GA.
