Lady Tigers Blow Out South Ga. State 16-5; Advance in GCAA Playoffs

DOUGLAS, Ga. -- The Andrew College softball team broke out the lumber on Tuesday, blowing out host South Georgia State 16-5 behind 17 hits, and advanced to play Georgia Highlands on Thursday in Cartersville, GA, in a best 2 out of 3 series, with a 2:00 pm doubleheader. If a third game is necessary, the Tigers will travel back on Saturday for the final game.

Hailey Stovall paced the offense, going 3 for 5 with 5 RBI, Calie Barber and Harlie Middleton each went 3 for 3 with an RBI, with Middleton doubling and scoring 3 times and Barber scoring twice, Devin Foster was 2 for 2 with a double, a triple, 3 runs scored and a stolen base, Taryn Strayer was 2 for 5 with a double, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI, Brianna Neese went 2 for 3 with a run scored and an RBI, Dale Elmore doubled in 2 runs, and Sarah Culp doubled in a run, while Elmore picked up her team-leading 9th win in the circle, allowing just one earned in the mercy run-ruled win.

Andrew now moves on to take on Georgia Highlands in a 2:00 pm doubleheader, in Cartersville, on Thursday.
