Lady Tigers Split With GMC; Foster Homers Twice; Begin Playoffs Tuesday

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. -- The Andrew College softball team picked up some momentum on Sunday in Milledgeville, GA, taking the nightcap 6-3, to head into the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) playoffs, where they will play a single elimination, seven inning game against South Ga. State on Tuesday, in Douglas. Despite career home runs #1 and #2 from sophomore Devin Foster and 3 RBI, as well as a 2-run shot from Calie Barber,  Andrew dropped the opener 9-5. The South Ga. State game will start at 3:00 pm.

Dale Elmore picked up her team-leading 8th win, scattering 10 hits and allowing just 1 earned run, in the 6-3 victory. Sarah Culp went 4 for 4, with a double, an RBI and a run scored, Hailey Stovall was 3 for 4, with a double, 3 runs scored, and an RBI, Brianna Neese had 2 hits and 2 RBI, Harlie Middleton had a pair of hits and an RBI, and Foster was 2 for 4 with a triple and a run scored, as the Tigers pounded out 14 hits in the game.

With a win on Tuesday, the Lady Tigers will advance to the 2nd round in the GCAA playoffs, with opponent and date to be determined.
