Lady Tigers Sweep LaGrange College JV 7-3 & 12-8

CUTHBERT, Ga. --  The Lady Tigers opened their 2018 season with a sweep of the LaGrange College JV at the Hord Athletic Complex on Friday, taking game one 7-3, then prevailing in the nightcap 12-8. 

Charlie Smith tossed a complete game in the opener, striking out 6, and allowing just 2 earned runs, while also driving in a pair of runs at the plate. Hope Dalton went 3 for 3 with an RBI, Taylor Sheffield and Angela Heimback each had a pair of hits and an RBI, and Devin Weaver doubled in a run, as the Tigers pounded out 12 hits in the 7-3 win.

Katelynn Simpson brought out the big lumber in game two, stroking a 3-run homer and driving in a run with a sacrifice fly, Sheffield went 3 for 4 and scored 3 runs, Kenley Kennedy and Kacie Fincher each had a pair of hits, with Kennedy scoring twice and Fincher driving in a run, Dalton doubled and drove 3 runs, and Heimback went 1 for 1 with 2 RBI as the Tigers built an 11-1 lead and cruised to the 12-8 victory.

Andrew is back at the Hord Athletic Complex on Tuesday, taking on the Thomas Univ. JV in a doubleheader, first game at 2:00 pm.
