Softball Team Working Through Fall Schedule

CUTHBERT. Ga. -- Head Coach Kayla Williams and the Lady Fighting Tigers are halfway through the semester as fall break approaches this week. With 9 sophomores returning who played extensively last year, Williams is happy with the progress the team has made so far. "The fall is all about integrating the freshman into our routines and expectations, and then letting them compete," said Williams, "And so far, I'm cautiously optimistic about the spring." Williams added, "The thing I like the most about this squad is the competitive depth, especially in the circle. I believe we have options to work through slumps and injuries, and that will be a key with a 55 game schedule."

One new feature at the field in the Hord Athletic Complex is the new wood wall that will replace the chain link fence and wind screen. Construction started today and will be finished in a week. The pressure treated lumber will dry for 3 months, then be painted just prior to opening day.

Also, the Andrew College Digital Network (ACDN) has added a hard line internet at Hord, which will allow broadcasts to be shot in HD, a huge upgrade from the 360 pixels we have used in the past.

The Tigers open January 27 at Hord against the LaGrange JV.
