SWAINSBORO, Ga. -- Charlie Smith picked up her GCAA leading 14th win with a 3-hit shutout over East Georgia State on Tuesday in Swainsboro, as the Lady Tigers took game one, 2-0, before dropping the nightcap 4-2.
In game one, the Tigers managed just 7 hits, but got RBI's from Katelynn Simpson and Shaeline Browne in the top of the 1st inning, and Smith made it stand up.
The Tigers got off to a quick start in game two, with Simpson singling in a pair of runs in the 1st, but the Lady Bobcats answered with 2 runs in the bottom half, than two more in the 2nd, and held on for the win.
The Lady Tigers return to the Hord Athletic Complex for a GCAA doubleheader against South Georgia State. The first game starts at 3:00 pm.
