Lady Tigers Rap Out 24 Hits; Sweep LaGrange College JV 7-0 & 9-2

CUTHBERT, Ga. -- The Lady Tigers poured on the offense on Tuesday at the Hord Athletic Complex, banging out 24 hits in the doubleheader and sweeping the LaGrange College JV 7-0 and 9-2, while picking up their team record 19th and 20th wins on the season. The previous season win record was 13.

In game one, Katelynn Simpson and Cheyenne Tillman went 3 for 4, with Simpson doubling twice and driving in 2 runs, and Tillman doubling, tripling, scoring twice and driving in 1 run, Kaitlyn Smith going 2 for 3, doubling, tripling, and scoring twice, Madison Beazley adding a 2 for 3, and Charlie Smith pitched 5 shutout innings, allowing just 1 hit, striking out 6, and earned her 13th win of the season, pulling her into 1st place in the GCAA. Tillman's double was her GCAA-leading 14th double of the year.

Game two saw Maci Townsend and Madison Whitehead with a pair of hits and a run scored, with Whitehead picking up an RBI, Simpson doubling in 2 runs, Tillman with a hit and a pair of RBI, and Sharmaine White picked up her 4th win of the season.

The Lady Tigers take on Gordon State College on Wednesday in Barnesville in a GCAA doubleheader.
