Lady Tigers Split With Wallace State-Dothan

DOTHAN, Ala. -- Madison Logan tossed a 6 hitter, allowed two earned runs, and struck out 2, as the Lady Tigers held off Wallace State - Dothan 5-2 in game one on Thursday. The Lady Tigers staged a furious rally in game two, scoring 3 runs in the top of the 6th inning, but fell short, dropping a 4-3 decision in the nightcap.

In game one, Kierra West went 1 for 2, blasting a 3-run homer, her 5th on the year, Cheyenne Tillman belted a pair of doubles and scored 2 runs, and Angela Heimback went 2 for 2 with 2 runs scored to pace the Tigers offense.

The Tigers fell behind 4-0 in game two, before an RBI double from West, and a 2-RBI single from Katelynn Simpson drew the Lady Tigers to within one, but the Tigers could get no closer. West's RBI was her team-leading 27th on the year.

Heimback's 7 homers on the year are currently second in the GCAA, and West's 5 homers are tied for 3rd. West's 27 RBI put her at 5th in the GCAA, and Charlie Smith's 10 wins and 63 strikeouts place her 2nd in the GCAA in both categories. The 15 wins continue to set a new record for wins in a single season since transitioning to fastpitch.

The Tigers get back into GCAA play on Tuesday, taking on Gordon State in Barnesville, Ga.
