Lady Tigers Win Game 1 Over CVCC, 2nd Game Suspended

CUTHBERT, Ga. -- Cheyenne Tillman belted a grand slam, doubled, and drove in 4 runs, Kierra West singled in the tying run in the bottom of the 6th inning, and Autumn Evans drove in the eventual game-winning runs with a sharp single to left center, as the Lady Tigers rallied for 3 runs and a 7-5 win over Chattahoochee Valley Community College (CVCC) in game one at the Hord Athletic Complex on Tuesday afternoon.

Tillman put the Tigers on top in the bottom of the 3rd inning with a grand slam to left to stake the Tigers to a 4-0 lead. CVCC then rallied for 5 runs in the top of the 6th, before West and Evans settled things in the bottom half.

Charlie Smith struck out 4 in 7 innings to earn the complete game win to run her season record to 3-3 on the year.

Game 2 was suspended in the bottom of the 6th inning, when rain halted the contest. CVCC is leading 8-1, as the Tigers come to bat with no outs and nobody on. The teams will complete the suspended portion of the game, before playing the regularly scheduled doubleheader on March 27 in Phenix City, AL.
