Two Fighting Tigers Men’s Soccer Players Move On

CUTHBERT, Ga. -- The Andrew College Men's Soccer Team has moved two more of their sophomores onto the next level. Bryan Zuniga and Ethan Williamson both held their commitment ceremony at Andrew College, with Zuniga committing to play his final two seasons of college soccer at nearby NCAA Division II Georgia Southwestern State and with Williamson completing his collegiate playing career at NAIA Dalton State.

Both Zuniga and Williamson will make the jump to their respective four-year programs with both Georgia Southwestern State and Dalton St. recently each bringing in new head coaches.

The Hurricanes of Georgia Southwestern State found their new head man, Eric Crawford, and lured him away from Northeastern State, an NCAA Div.II power in Oklahoma, where Crawford played his collegiate ball and served as an assistant coach.

Zuniga, a native of Cali, Colombia, led the Fighting Tigers in goals in both of his seasons in Cuthbert, finding the back of the net 22 times and assisting on 11 goals. Zuniga served as a team captain during his sophomore year, and made the NJCAA Region 17 All-Region Team for his efforts in the 2018 season. Zuniga saw Georgia Southwestern as a place that could help him grow in all areas.

"I chose GSW because they have a very good program for my major." said Zuniga. "I also chose them because I think their soccer program will develop me to be a better player and a better person.

Dalton State found their new head man in Saif Alsafeer, who headed the program at Florida College in Temple Terrace, FL.

Williamson, who came to Andrew College from North Cobb High School in Atlanta, played center defensive midfield and defense for the Fighting Tigers. Williamson also served as a team captain for the Fighting Tigers in 2018. With Dalton very close to his family, the proximity and several other factors made becoming a Roadrunner an easy choice for Williamson.

"I chose Dalton State because of their great business program, new facilities and their high playing level as a team." said Williamson.

Andrew Coach Taylor Jones had high marks for both players.

"Both Ethan and Bryan were huge for us this past season," said Jones. "They knew we were going to be a very young team, and they embraced the challenge and were key figures in our locker room and on the playing field."
