Tigers Fall Short

Milledgeville, GA- The Bulldogs were able to get 1-0 victory over the Tigers Friday night in a great game of soccer.

The first half produced a couple good chances for both groups. Andrew would get an opportunity off a set piece in the 24th minute from Bryan Zuniga. Fredrik Ackander would serve a ball in, and Bryan would out leap a GMC defender and goalkeeper heading just wide of the post. Bryan Zuniga would create another good chance right before half in the 41st minute. He would dribble past two defenders, before hitting a hard shot low to the back post that was well saved by the Bulldogs goalkeeper.

Andrew nearly took the lead in 46th minute when Andy Jean-Pierre was played over the top for a one on one, but shot the ball just wide. GMC would take the lead off a set piece in the 55th minute from a header. AC would create two more really good chances in the final five minutes, hitting the post, and then Kishawn Campbell bringing a top save on one on one from Bulldog goalkeeper.

"I was incredibly proud of our team tonight, said coach pantazelos. We defended and attacked tremendously. I thought we created the much more dangerous chances, but just didn't execute in front of goal. Our performance didn't match the result, and thats how the game works sometimes. Sometimes you have a great performance, and don't get the result, and sometimes you have a bad performance, and you do get the result. If we continue to have those kinds of performances, and play to our championship standard, the results will take care of themselves."
