Tigers Dominant Weekend

Tigers Dominant Weekend

Meridian, MS & Atlanta, GA- The Andrew College men's soccer team had two games this weekend back to back away from home. They first took on Meridian Eagles Saturday before heading to Atlanta, Georgia to take on Oglethorpe JV.

The Tigers attack has been lethal recently, and that didn't stop against Meridian. AC opened up the scoring 10 minutes in from Andy Jean-Pierre picking a ball off a defender, and slipping a composed finish past the goalkeeper on a 1 v 1. The team would score two more before half from a first time finish from Kishawn Campbell and a long distant shot 30 yards out from Andrei Bajura

The second half wouldn't be much different, the Tigers would put three more goals on the score board, two from Bryan Zuniga and one from Andy Jean-Pierre.

AC would continue to take care of business against Oglethorpe JV in a Sunday night contest. The game started out a bit sluggish from both teams, until Andy Jean-Pierre opened up the scoring late in the first half. The Tigers would continue to dictate the game in the second half netting twice, and controling most of the possesion. Similar to Saturday, both Bryan and Andy would net a goal in the second half.

Bryan has 7 goals and 7 assists on the season, while Andy has 8 goals and 4 assists.

"Having a dominant mentality is what we've preached this season", says coach Pantazelos. "Dominance is one of our core values in the program, and our mindset is to impose our will against the opponent for 90 minutes, and we showed we're capable of that in both games on the road."

Andrew College travels to Tallahassee, FL this Friday to take on Thomas University JV.
