Scoring Barrage Lifts Andrew Over Oglethorpe JV

ATLANTA, Ga. --The Andrew College men's soccer team came out of the gates flying Sunday evening, and recorded their first win on the season with a 7-0 victory, over the Oglethorpe University JV in Atlanta on Sunday.

Andrew struck early with Andy Jean-Pierre netting his first goal of the season, assisted by Kishawn Campbell just eight minutes into the contest. Jean-Pierre would finish the night recording his first collegiate hat-trick, scoring in the 12th assisted by Rasid Jakupovic, and 35th minute as well. The action wouldn't stop there, the Tigers would net three more times in the first half. Bryan Zuniga scored his first collegiate goal in the 29th minute, and assisted on three others. Ridi Muteba would add two more goals as the Tigers took a 6-0 lead into the half.

In the second half, Zuniga found the back of the net for the second time in the 53rd minute, assisted by Osvaldo Cabrales. The rest of the game both teams fought hard to finish the night at a bit of a stalemate. Alex Huddleston and Donnie Carter each made two saves to share for both of their first career shutouts.

"Tonight was a step in the right direction for our team", said coach Pantazelos. "We are a young team working towards developing an identity, and learning how to consistently do all the things that go into winning."

Jean-Pierre and Muteba lead the team in scoring with three goals each on the season. Zuniga has two goals, and a team leading three assists.

Andrew hosts Thomas University JV on Saturday at Hord Complex at 4 p.m.
