Andrew Golf T9th After Round 1; Landahl Atop Leaderboard With a 69(-2)

JASPER, Ala. -- The Andrew College Men's Golf team opened the Jefferson State Community College Pioneer Invitational with a 69-77-78-79=303(+19) at the Musgrove Country Club in Jasper, AL on Monday, good for T9th in a strong 15 team field. Among the teams competing in the tournament, Eastern Florida State (#10), Wallace State-Hanceville (#13), and Central Alabama CC (#14) are Top 15 in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I rankings. Five more teams, Snead State (#23), Southern Union CC (#25), Calhoun CC (#26), Spartanburg Methodist (#27), and Coastal Alabama CC (#28) are in the Top 30. Andrew College currently sits 32nd in the country.

Linus Landahl scorched the Blue Course on Monday with a 69(-2) and is tied atop the leaderboard with four other golfers, among 86 individuals in the tournament. Jonathan Stern fired a 77(+6), Gabriel Johnston signed for a 78(+7), Oscar Petitjean carded a 79(+8), and Burke Rawlinson finished with an 80(+9) to round out the Tiger scoring.

The Tigers play 18 holes on Tuesday, which will wind up the 2022 Fall season.
