Tigers Fire Best Round of Year; Hixson Finishes T12th

FAIRHOPE, Ala. -- The Andrew College men's golf team followed an opening round 357 on Monday, with their best round of the year on Tuesday, shooting 333 to rally to a 357-333=690(+141) at the Coastal Alabama Men's Golf Invitational, held at the Rock Creek Golf Club in Fairhope, AL.

Connor Hixson led the Tigers in the individual competition, firing 75-74=149(+5) to finish T12th out of 59 golfers. Bryce Barfield shot 81-82=163(+19), Noah Peterson had the best second round, compared to his first round of anyone in the tournament, carding a 100-85=185(+41), and Trip Carter shot his best score of the year, signing for a 101-92=193(+49) to round out the Tiger scoring.

The Tigers take about a month break from tournament playing, before traveling to Foley, AL on March 16-17, to play in the Glen Lakes Invitational, being held at the Glen Lakes Golf Course. The 6,938 yd. Par 72 course is a Scottish links design, and the Tigers will play 36 holes on Monday, followed by 18 holes on Tuesday.
