Andrew Golf's Rasmus Konradsson Makes All-Tournament Team at NJCAA Div. I National Preview

Melbourne, Fla. -- In a stellar field, full of nationally-ranked teams and players, Andrew College's Rasmus Konradsson shot 75-74 on the opening Monday, settling in the 15th spot among individual competitors, at the NJCAA Div. I National Preview, hosted by Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, FL last weekend. On the final 18 holes on Tuesday, Konradsson blistered the 7,032 yd, Par 72 Duran Golf Club with a closing 69, to finish 75-74-69=218(+2), climbing 11 spots on the leaderboard, to finish T4th, earning his 1st All-Tournament selection of his collegiate career. 

Konradsson, a sophomore from Njurunda, Sweden, and a 2017 NJCAA Div. II PING All-Region selection, was Andrew's leading scorer for the tenth time in eleven tournaments. The final round 69 was the second lowest of the third round, and was one of just five rounds in the 60's among the entire field of 58 players. The showing vaulted Konradsson to 41st in the NJCAA Div. Head Coach Aaron Feyes commented, "Rasmus has just continued to improve over the past year and a half. This course is where the NJCAA Div. I Men's Golf will be played next spring, and the strength of this field shows him, that he can compete with the best players in the country on any given week."

The tournament featured three teams ranked in the Top Ten in the latest NJCAA Div. I Men's Golf Rankings. The field also included 10 players ranked in the Top 30, 15 players in the Top 40, including Eastern Florida's Ben Ramos, the 4th ranked player in the NJCAA Div. I, and Wallace State's Matt Smith, the 5th ranked player, and winner of the National Preview with a score of 212(-4).

The Tigers take a couple of weeks off, teeing off next at the 17th Annual MGCCC Fall Invitational, being held at Windance Country Club in Gulfport, MS on Oct. 29-30.
