Tigers Finish 7th at the MGCCC Fall Invitational
SAUCIER, Miss. -- Led by Joey Hendrix's even par 72 today, the Andrew College golf team torched the Grand Bear Golf Club for a team total of 299, and vaulted four spots up the leaderboard, to finish in 7th place at the 15th Annual Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Fall Invitational. The team score was the second best one shot on Tuesday, out of seventeen teams, trailing only a 297 shot by Copiah-Lincoln CC. The Tigers picked up sixteen shots on their first day total, and were one of only three teams to improve on their first round score. The sixteen stroke improvement was easily the best of the three who managed to accomplish it. The Tigers two round total was 315-299=614.
Erik Sundstrom was the leading individual for Andrew College, firing a 72-81=153, and a T21st out of 98 players. Brett Ammons carded an 80-75=155, and a T31st, while Hendrix signed for an 84-72=156, tied for 39th. Jacob Whann chipped in with an 82-75=157, good for a T44th and Markus Svahn added an 81-77=158 to tie for 48th.
The Preview at the Point in Alexander City, Ala. is the Tigers last fall tournament. It will be played at Willow Point Country Club on November 7-8.
